I took the visual language of mass media — comics, ads, clichés — and blew it up.

Ben-Day dots. Bold outlines. Women in crisis. Explosions mid-thought.
Some people thought it was satire. Some thought it was soulless.
It was both — and neither.

I painted emotion as a format. Drama as design. Irony as structure.
I wanted to challenge what people considered “real” art by showing them what they looked at every day.

Flat didn’t mean empty. Clean didn’t mean easy.

This profile is a tribute to a painter who turned pop culture into precision — and gave emotion a graphic edge.
